CI Terrell’s Island Breakwall Trail (12H2Y)
Professional Engineering worked on this project which created a 1.6 mile walking trail on the Terrell’s Island habitat restoration breakwall on Lake Butte des Morts. This existing trail surface was composed of limestone shot rock of 6″-36″ diameter, making walking exceedingly difficult and dangerous. Professional Engineering prepared plans and specifications that widened the existing breakwall to create a 9’ wide trail with a ADA compliant surface. The finished trail will give users a 3.6 mile continuous loop through uplands and extensive and diverse wetland communities, including open water. This will allow unique wildlife viewing opportunities as well as public fishing access.
